The Boylston Parks & Recreation Department will be providing recreation programming for Boylston Students on the seven professional development 1/2 days noted on the Boylston-Berlin Regional School District School Calendar for the 2024-2025 school year. The programming will take place at the Boylston Elementary School beginning at dismissal until the after school childcare program opens at 3:15pm. If your child is signed up for the after school childcare program, they will be transitioned into their care from the recreation program. If your child is not signed up for the after school childcare program, they must be picked up by a parent or designee by 3:15pm.
Please be advised this program is not run by the school but rather the Boylston Parks & Recreation Department. Children with varying abilities are always welcome at recreation programs. If a child is assigned a 1:1 aide during the school day, for any reason, an aide is required to accompany the child during these programs. We are unable to hire or provide aides that are trained to the same level as school staff. Please call the Recreation Department to discuss accommodations for any child requiring special considerations no later than two weeks before the start of the program so we can figure it out together.
Notice on when registration for each 1/2 day recreation program will be released will be announced in the Principal's Newsletter ahead of opening. To be fair to all, they will not all be released at once, but rather one or two program dates at a time. There will be a one week window to register once a day has been opened. Space is limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. No late registrations will be accepted. No refunds will given. If necessary, a wait list will be started.
To register, you must have an account at Boylstonparks.org. To pay online with a credit card or e-check, you must also have a Uni-pay account (banking fees may apply). If you are paying online, have your credit card or banking information with you when you are registering and know your Uni-pay user name and password- (if you started the online payment process, do not use the back arrow to come back later to pay - it will cause you to lose your registration). You may also register and opt to pay later in the office with a check or cash, however full payment is expected by the end of the registration period (one week from the day of opening), as the number and age of students registered will determine staffing needs. If your payment is not received in full by the end of the registration period, your registration will be cancelled.
Register all children that will be attending. We will issue a discount if you have more than two children attending a session. There will be a $50 cap/family/session. Register all the children and pay for just two when you pay your invoice. Office staff will adjust the invoice and amount owed for the third to zero.
If you are experiencing a hardship and are unable to pay for the program, please register as if you would be paying later (don't choose online payment) and then contact us to let us know. We have a plan in place to help!
It may benefit anyone thinking of registering to review passwords ahead of registration day to prevent delays. Upon setting up your account or logging in to Boylstonparks.org, check that things are in order and please make sure that you have 'opted in' to general email and text notifications, as this is how we will send blanket notifications to everyone that has registered.
During the registration process, you will be required to answer some questions about your child and accept the Town of Boylston's Liability Waiver. Most questions are required to have answers. If the question does not pertain to you, but is required, simply answer 'no.'
When you are done registering, you will either receive an invoice or receipt (depending on how you chose to pay) to the email registered as the billing email in your account. If you do not see an email a few minutes after registering, please check junk/spam. If you still do not find it, call the office for assistance as your registration is not complete.
During each program day, children will eat lunch, have recess, and participate in several themed activity stations under the direction of Parks & Recreation staff and volunteers.
Any questions should be directed to Boylston Parks & Recreation at boylstonparks@boylston-ma.gov or 774-317-9254.
