Kids from 7-12 are invited to join us on Wednesday, 11/11 from 9am-3:30pm for Combat Robots!
This program gives students the chance to design, build, and battle their own robots using LEGO® bricks and motorized components. Participants explore key engineering and mechanical concepts, including gears, motors, and simple machines, while learning how to make their robots move, spin, and compete in fun, interactive challenges.
Throughout the program, students work individually and in teams to plan, construct, and test their robots, refining their designs to improve performance. They learn critical problem-solving and creative thinking skills as they experiment with different strategies and adapt to new challenges.
Combat Robots also emphasizes teamwork, communication, and sportsmanship, as students collaborate, share ideas, and celebrate each other’s successes. By combining hands-on building with strategy and engineering principles, this program offers an exciting, immersive experience that inspires confidence, curiosity, and a love of STEM learning
This class will take place from 9am-3:30pm on a day off from school.
Participants should dress comfortably, bring a water bottle and tree-nut, peanut free lunch and snack.
Class size is limited and will be filled on a first-come, first served basis. This class is currently scheduled to take place in the Parks and Recreation Office however, depending on enrollment numbers we may move to the Town House at 599 Main Street.
The Parks and Recreation Department reserves the right to cancel any program at any time for any reason, mostly due to low enrollment. If Parks and Recreation must cancel the program, you will be notified via the primary email on your account and we will initiate any necessary refunds.
