Movie Making Classes! - Live Action Flix!
Join us for a week of movie making! Make a movie that will surprise all your friends and family! During the week of July 27-31, youth ages 7-13 are welcome to join us for these very fun classes. (See demonstrations at www.Incrediflix.com).The children will work on making their own movies with the help and supervision of an instructor. They will be separated in to groups within the program to pair with kids their own ages.Both full and half day options are available for this program. Working in a movie crew we’ll bring your ideas to life. BEST Soccer Clinic Summer 2026 week of Aug. 3-7 - Full & Half Day Options. - BEST Soccer Clinic 2026 Half Day Option
This popular soccer clinic is designed for kids 5-12 years old. It will run for one full week from August 5-7/ The half day option will run for three hours each day from 9am-noon. The full day option will run from 9am-3pm each day. The cost of the clinic includes a T-shirt. Balls will be available for purchase at $20.00 each. Each day of the clinic will focus on different skills that will be introduced, refined and mastered. Children will be divided by age and skill level to get the most from the clinic.Children should plan to bring a soccer ball, water bottle and tree-nut, peanut free snacks (morning and afternoon). If they are staying for the full day, please also have your child bring a tree-nut, peanut free lunch. All children should wear comfortable clothing appropriate for the weather, with shin guards an soccer cleats for safety. Don't forget the sunscreen!A minimum of 25 players is required to run this program and there is a max of 60 players. As always, the Parks & Recreation Department reserves the right to cancel programming for any reason, including low enrollment. If the event is cancelled by Parks & Recreation, refunds will be initiated, otherwise no refunds will be issued. Bank fees are non-refundable. Please also read the code of conduct on the Parks & Recreation general form that will pop up upon registering.The last day is generally reserved for the World Cup celebration and teams will compete against each other using the skills they've learned, developed, or refined during the week. Parents are welcome at the end of the last day to watch!In accordance with MA General Law, an updated immunization record and physical (dated within 18 months) of the soccer camp must be submitted for each child. The physical should indicate that the child is in good health and can participate in the camp and signed by the physician. There is no particular form to fill out, however, if you let your physician know they are needed for a soccer camp, they will give you their standard format for such needs. Stargazing with the Aldrich Society - Stargazing with the Aldrich Society
Join us on the evening of 8/12 at 7:45pm for Stargazing with the Aldrich Society (inclement weather date - 8/19 at the same time). The evening will begin with an informational talk by members of the Aldrich Society. Then they will assist everyone in viewing the night sky through their high-powered telescopes. Bring your own telescope if you wish!
This will be an interesting an interesting day for sure- there will be no Moon, and a short view for Venus, but there will great views of the Milky Way and a partial solar eclipse (15%) going on in the afternoon (12:59-2:49pm) - viewers will need solar glasses to view!
Then, during the evening of August 12, 2026, skywatchers in Boylston can observe the peak of the Perseid meteor shower and classic summer constellations. Thanks to a New Moon, the skies will be completely dark, providing optimal conditions for both casual stargazing and astrophotography.
The Perseid Meteor Shower: Expect to see 50 to 100 "shooting stars" per hour, including bright fireballs that leave
glowing trails.
Best Perseid viewing time: The shower ramps up after 10:00 PM local time, but the highest rates will occur in the pre-dawn hours of
August 13 when the Perseus radiant point is highest.
The Summer Triangle: Look overhead to find the three brilliant stars that make up this asterism: Vega (in Lyra), Deneb
(in Cygnus), and Altair (in Aquila).
The Milky Way Core: On a moonless night, observers in darker areas of Boylston can spot the glowing, cloudy band of the
Milky Way stretching across the southern sky, centered toward the constellation Sagittarius.
This is a family friendly program. Children ages 6 and older will get the most benefit. There will be stickers and a chance to touch a meteorite! Bring blankets or chairs to sit on, snacks, flashlights for walking in the dark, and bug spray!
There is no charge for this program, but registration is requested for headcount purposes. This event is weather dependent. If a reschedule is necessary, we have reserved 8/19 at 7:45 pm as a backup and what we’ll see in the sky will be different.
This program is partially funded by a grant from the Boylston Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.

Castles and Kingdoms: This program invites students to step into the world of medieval castles and kingdoms through hands-on LEGO® building activities. Participants design castles, fortresses, and surrounding landscapes, while creating characters and scenes that bring their kingdoms to life.Throughout the program, students experiment with building techniques, plan and organize their creations, and refine their designs, fostering creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Activities combine imaginative storytelling with hands-on learning, making STEM concepts accessible and engaging.Collaboration is encouraged as students share ideas, work together on large-scale projects, and help one another enhance their designs. Prehistoric Creature Robotics! - Prehistoric Creature Robotics!
Boylston Parks and Recreation is pleased to offer Prehistoric Creatures with Snapology. This class is for students age 7-12 years old and will take place on Aug. 17-21 from from 12:30pm-3:30pm in the Parks & Recreation office at 221 Main Street. Prehistoric Creatures: This program invites students to step back in time and explore the age of dinosaurs through hands-on robotics activities. Participants design, build, and program dinosaur-inspired robots using LEGO® and other robotics tools, combining creativity with engineering and coding skills.Throughout the program, students experiment with building and programming techniques, test and refine their robots, and solve challenges, fostering critical thinking, problem-solving, and perseverance. Activities encourage imaginative play while introducing basic robotics and STEM concepts in an age-appropriate and engaging way.Collaboration and teamwork are emphasized as students share ideas, work together on projects, and support one another in creating functional and imaginative robotic creatures.
